We welcome applications for study towards research degrees from candidates with suitable qualifications and specialist interests related to those of our staff.

The Structured PhD in History is a four-year, full-time programme of study and research.  The length of the dissertation is normally approximately 80,000 words. The dissertation should make a substantial and original contribution to its field of knowledge. The degree is awarded for work that is 'worthy of publication, in whole or in part, as a work of serious scholarship'.
